"And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them." And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them , and carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God." Luke 24:50-53
As I read this passage today, I was reminded of our JOY IN THE LORD! A few of the reasons are:
1. His revelation of the Fathers love and power. John 14:9
2. His wonderful steps to follow in such as his love, compassion and sacrifice. John 20:21
3. His wonderful teachings to show us the way. Matt. 28:19-20
4. His sacrifice of his "PRECIOUS" blood to redeem us unto himself. I Peter 1:19, Eph. 1:7
5. His glorious resurrection to grant unto us the new life, and as a guarantee of our
hope, not just for today, but for eternity. Romans 4:21-5:2
6. The power of the Holy Spirit he has sent to comfort, guide and empower. John 16
7. The place he is preparing where we can be with him forever.(Heaven) John 14
There are many more reasons for JOY IN THE LORD! Let us remember; it was with great joy that the disciples were continually in the temple(church) "praising and blessing God" Lk. 24:53.
God help us to be in the church and to BE THE CHURCH alive and full of joy in these late and important days we are living in.
"WITH GREAT JOY"
