The times were urgent and the need was great. Under God's guidance Nehemiah had been use of God to lead the people to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. The exiles were returning and everything was now looking better. Times were still hard and there were many more challenges ahead. What would make a difference in the
future would be dedication to God and to the HOUSE OF GOD. In chapter 10 and verse 39 a powerful reminder that would be well for us in these days.
"For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the
offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers,
where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priest that minister,
and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house
of the Lord." Nehemiah 10:39
If there has ever been a time when this resolve should be ours it is now! Dear
Brother and Sister in Christ. Let us "not forsake the house of the Lord." Many
church doors are closing. Many ministers leaving the work. Many of God's
children are becoming too worldly involved to continue making a difference for
the Lord.
What should we do in this crucial time? How can we help to keep our church strong?
1. Love the church. Christ did and died for it!
2. Pray for its leaders and for your fellow members.
3. Support it with your time, talent and resources.
Plan now! Leave the devil no room to tamper with your plans. Put the devil on notice
that there is "one living in you greater than he is". from I John 4:4
Have a blessed week,
